High School Dual Enrollment Policies & Agreement The college(s) may restrict enrollment for reasons of health and safety, student readiness, seat availability, and CCCD board policy. You will only need to submit one Parent Consent Form to allow participation for the rest of your student's high school years. Please review the requirements below.
Rules & Regulations:
CCCD Dual Enrollment students are responsible for complying with the rules and regulations of the college(s) as published in the college catalogs (CCC, GWC, and OCC) and schedules of classes.
The colleges allow eligible concurrent enrollment students to register in a maximum of 11.9 college units during the fall and spring semesters and 9 units in the summer. College and Career Pathway Students (CCAP) dual enrollment students may enroll in up to 15 units in fall and spring terms.
Photograph Release:
CCC, GWC, or OCC may take and use photos of participants to use in our promotional material. I hereby grant CCC, GWC, and OCC permission to use my student’s likeness, name, voice, and words in any broadcast, telecast, or print media account of college events or activities.
For CCC, GWC, or OCC Classes at the High School Campus
Course Registration
The student will need to complete an online admissions application and sign the class registration roster to complete the registration process. If students fail to complete enrollment steps, no college credit will be earned regardless of course attendance/completion. Deadlines will be reviewed in class during the beginning of the term.
For Classes at a CCCD College Campus or Online

Please note that submitting this parent consent form and application does not register the student in the course. It is the student's responsibility to log into their MyCoast account to register for course(s) in accordance with all college deadlines.
Grades
The grade(s) a high school dual enrollment student earns in a CCC, GWC, or OCC class will become a part of their official college academic record and official college transcript. Grades also may be shared with the High School District to include on the high school transcript.
Fees
High school students are not required to pay college enrollment fees. However, students taking a college course at CCC, GWC, or OCC or online are required to pay a Health Fee and a College Service Charge. Other costs, such as books and materials, are to be paid by the student, unless your high school has agreed to pay for the materials.
Grades
The grade a student earns in their college class will become a part of their official college academic record and transcript. Students may view their course grades by logging into their MyCoast account. Please note students must make satisfactory academic progress (minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 and completion of 67% of courses attempted) to maintain eligibility for financial aid when they begin at a CCCD college as a full-time college student.
Course Content/ Material
CCC, GWC, and OCC are adult learning environments. As such, discussion topics and course materials are designed for adults and may not be appropriate for younger students. CCC, GWC, or OCC assume no responsibility for the supervision of minor students outside of the classroom setting. Parents are responsible for providing transportation and ensuring that their children are appropriately supervised before and after class.
Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and Student Privacy
Parents, guardians, relatives, or friends of GWC students are not permitted to enroll, drop, or add classes on behalf of the student. The same applies to requesting transcripts or grade verifications. Under Section 49061 of the Education Code, parents of community college students do not have a right of access to their children's student records, regardless of whether the student is under the age of 18. In accordance with this regulation, students' college records will be released to parents only with the written consent of the student. Contacting Instructors
Your student is enrolled in a college course, where instructors work directly with students, as opposed to the type of parent involvement you may be used to in high school. Under FERPA, instructors are not allowed to discuss student performance or other student-related issues with parents.
