Coastline ASG - Public Comment Form

The Coastline College Associated Student Government (ASG) welcomes students, community members, and all campus voices to share ideas, feedback, and perspectives on matters within ASG's jurisdiction.  Written public comments can be submitted for ASG meetings and may be read aloud, as time allows, in accordance with the California Brown Act.

Written Public Comment Submission & Presentation Guidelines

  • Each individual may submit one comment per meeting, with a maximum of 650 words.
  • Comments should be submitted online at least 72 hours before the meeting begins.
  • All submitted comments become part of the public record.
  • At each meeting, up to the first 20 comments—including in-person, remote, and online submissions—may be read aloud. This number is subject to the chair’s discretion.
  • If reading all comments exceeds the meeting’s time limit, remaining comments will be read at the next meeting.
  • Currently enrolled students and in-person speakers may receive priority. Comments should be related to ASG matters.
  • Comments containing profanity or hate speech will not be accepted or included in the public record.
  • Public comment provides an opportunity for the community to share input with the ASG on matters within its jurisdiction.
  • Under the California Brown Act, the ASG may listen to comments but cannot deliberate, respond, or act on non-agenda items.
  • Comments must be respectful and lawful, and accessibility accommodations are available upon request.
