GWC IPD - Conference of a Greater Import to the College Criteria

In addition to the annual IPD Conference Funding Program, the Institute for Professional Development (IPD) may provide up to $3,000 in additional annual conference funding for faculty attending conferences that support institutional priorities and have a broad impact beyond an individual's discipline.
  • This funding is intended for faculty serving in campus leadership, participatory governance, or other college-wide roles where conference participation directly benefits the college, its programs, or the faculty as a whole.
  • Conferences focused primarily on a faculty member's academic discipline or subject matter expertise are not eligible under this funding opportunity.
  • Eligible conferences should provide knowledge, training, or best practices that can be shared with campus committees, departments, or the broader college community through the CIL Knowledge Exchange, presentations, workshops, or other dissemination activities.
  • Funding is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and is contingent upon the availability of IPD funds. Priority consideration will be given to faculty members serving on the Academic Senate, CCI, and IPD.

EXAMPLES:
  • A DEAC member attending an Artificial Intelligence or educational technology conference and sharing recommendations with DEAC and the campus.
  • An Articulation Officer attending an articulation conference to implement changes that improve transfer pathways and student success.
  • A Department Chair or faculty member attending a Dual Enrollment conference and sharing best practices to expand or improve the college's dual enrollment program.
  • A faculty leader serving on an accreditation, curriculum, distance education, student success, or other participatory governance committee attending a conference directly related to their committee responsibilities and reporting outcomes to the committee and campus.
