HOW TO ADVANCE ON THE SALARY SCHEDULEA total of 20 units is required for Horizontal Salary Advancement.
Option 1 – Academic Coursework (20 Semester Units) Complete all 20 semester units through upper-division academic coursework. Submit your official transcript to District Human Resources as documentation of completed coursework. This option is administered entirely by District HR. For assistance, contact Christina Rosales at crosales33@cccd.edu.
Note: If you are earning Continuing Education Units (CEUs) (e.g., an @ONE course through Fresno Pacific University), do not submit a Salary Advancement Credit (SAC) application to the IPD.
Option 2 – Academic Coursework + IPD Professional Improvement Program Units of Credit Complete 10 upper-division academic semester units plus 10 IPD Professional Improvement Program Units of Credit
To receive IPD Professional Improvement Program Units of Credit, submit a Salary Advancement Credit (SAC) application to the Institute for Professional Development (IPD).
3. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Briefly describe your proposed SAC project.
5. Describe what evidence will be submitted to show that the objectives have been met.
With the exception of those enrolled in a class, faculty members will also be required to submit a time log which includes a list of dates, description of activities, hours, and the total hours of the final project.
8. How many IPD units of credits are you requesting, and how many hours do you anticipate dedicating to the project? (Refer to the Program Type list above for the number of credits associated with each program type.) Class/Conference/Workshop project earns (1) unit of credit for every (18) documented clock hours dedicated to the project. (Example: a 40-hour class earns 2.22 units of credits)
Awarding of final units of credit is contingent upon the IPD Chair's review and approval of documentation verifying the actual number of hours completed for the approved program.
