MESA Fall 2024 Application

MESA (Math, Engineering, Science, Achievement) is a state-funded program serving students who face economic and educational barriers. MESA assists students to attain their educational and career goals through academic, community, career, transfer and financial services and supports. The goals of the program are to encourage the enrollment, retention and transfer of STEM students.

By joining us, you are getting access to:

  • A designated Academic Counselor specializing in STEM majors

  • Help finding and applying for STEM Scholarships & Paid Internships

  • The MESA Student Center

  • Study Groups and Guided Review Sessions for your core STEM classes

  • University Visits and other Field Trips

  • Customized support and guidance based on your specific goals

The MESA Program and all of its benefits are open to Golden West College students who meet all of the following requirements:

  • Majoring in a STEM field that requires Calculus I (MATH G180) or above at Golden West College.

  • A 1st Generation College Student (parents/guardians have not yet earned a college degree)

  • Have demonstrated Financial Need (determined by their FAFSA/CA Dream Act application)

  • US Citizen, Permanent Resident, or AB 540/DACA

  • Planning to Transfer to a University to earn a Bachelor's degree in a STEM major

  • No gpa requirement!

*If you have not submitted your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA), please do this ASAP!
