In celebration of AANHPI Heritage Month, join the AANHPI Center for Sweet Traditions: The Art of Wagashi, a hands-on cultural workshop exploring the beauty and meaning behind traditional Japanese sweets.

Wagashi are more than just desserts—they are edible works of art that reflect the changing seasons, natural landscapes, and deep-rooted cultural values of Japan. Often enjoyed alongside tea, these delicately crafted confections embody harmony, balance, and attention to detail, making them an important part of Japanese cultural expression.

During this interactive workshop, participants will learn the techniques used to shape and design wagashi while gaining insight into the history, symbolism, and cultural significance behind each creation. Through this experience, students will not only engage in the artistry of wagashi-making but also deepen their appreciation for how food can serve as a powerful reflection of identity, tradition, and storytelling.

Come immerse yourself in a creative and calming space, connect with others, and experience the intersection of culture, art, and community.

There will be 2 sessions with only 10 participant per session.

Please register as soon as possible to secure your spot, as space is limited.
