Loan Agreement:

This agreement is made between Student and the Orange Coast College Adult Education Office regarding the loan of a Chromebook.

By inputting information in this agreement, the Student acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to comply with the terms outlined in this agreement:

  1. Acknowledgment of Age and Eligibility: The Student acknowledges that they are over the age of 18, and this loan agreement is not applicable to minors. If the Student is under 18, they are not eligible to borrow a Chromebook through this agreement.
  2. Loan Period: The Chromebook is being loaned to the Student for educational purposes only for the academic semester of Spring 2025.
  3. Care and Maintenance: The Student agrees to take proper care of the Chromebook, including but not limited to:
    • Keeping the Chromebook clean and free from damage.
    • Avoiding exposure to extreme temperatures, liquids, or other potential hazards that could cause damage.
    • Not tampering with or altering the Chromebook in any way, whether through software or physical attributes.
  4. Return Condition: The Student agrees to return the Chromebook and charger in the same condition in which it was provided, with no damage beyond normal wear and tear. The Student is responsible for any repair or replacement costs if the Chromebook is damaged, lost, or stolen while in their care.
  5. Return Timeline: The Chromebook must be returned by Friday, May 30, 2025, or before the specified return date, or immediately upon request from the Adult Education Office.
  6. Consequences for Non-Compliance:
    • Failure to Return: If the Student does not return the Chromebook by the designated return date, or if the Chromebook is not returned at all, the Student will lose loaning privileges for future Chromebook loans. Additionally, the Student will be responsible to reimburse the college $300, and a hold will be placed on the Student’s account.
    • Damage to the Chromebook: If the Chromebook is returned with damages, the Student will be responsible for repair or replacement costs, and future loaning privileges will be revoked.
