OCC Basic Need Center Hardship Grant

The OCC Basic Needs Center Hardship Grant provides direct aid assistance to students who encounter unforeseen circumstances that disrupt their progress towards their educational goals. The hardship grant is intended to cover costs associated with academics, child care, food, housing/living, and transportation. 

Students must meet the eligibility criteria to be considered for a hardship grant.

Eligibility

  • Enrolled in at least 6 units at Orange Coast College
  • Submitted FAFSA or CA Dream Act application for the current academic year 
  • Demonstrate need resulting from an unexpected circumstance

Student may only receive a maximum of one hardship grant during the academic year. Students can receive a maximum award of up to $500. 

Requests are reviewed for need and availability of funds. Your responses will be kept confidential and will only be seen by the OCC Hardship Grant staff. Depending on your answers and needs, we may reach out to you directly with support and resources.
