Why Undocumented Student Action Month?

The Coast Colleges Undocumented Student Liaisons are proud to expand California Community Colleges’ annual Undocumented Student Action Week into a month-long (USAM) celebration across our District. Established in 2016, USAW is a statewide initiative that supports undocumented students by raising awareness, amplifying their voices, and advancing equity-driven policies.

This year’s theme, Together in Purpose, Grounded in Belonging, calls on colleges, educators, and leaders to affirm students’ identities, empower their journeys, and uplift communities. Throughout October, colleges will host workshops, policy forums, and campus events that center cultural affirmation, trauma-informed practices, and access to resources such as fellowships, entrepreneurship pathways and more.

We invite you to participate in our events celebrating this important month. For any questions, please contact your college’s Undocumented Student Liaison.
